Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking an experienced CAD Drafter to join the MK1Lunar Lander team. You will prepare design layouts, create detailed part and assembly drawings, and release data sets using Creo Parametric and Windchill, supporting cross-functional engineers. The role requires an Associate degree in CAD & Design, 5+ years in aerospace, and strong GD&T and BOM management; Bachelor's preferred.

U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience in designing active thermal hardware (tubing, radiators, coldplates, pump assemblies, etc.) and/or passive thermal hardware (MLI, TPS).
• Experience in cross-functional teams for materials, manufacturing processes and design.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part and assembly drawings/MBDs, and releasing data sets using CAD and PLM tools.
• Reviewing engineering drawing and designs to ensure alignment to specifications and standards.
• Supporting engineering teams with mechanical layout and detail design for structural parts and assemblies.
• Applying company techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs.
• Implementing standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule and performance requirements.
