Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Thermal Assembly for the Arden, NC site. You will provide technical leadership across thermo-assembly processes, drive cost and quality improvements, and partner with cross-functional teams to meet customer and production goals.

Requirements include a BS in mechanical/electromechanical engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing engineering on automated lines, and knowledge of APQP, lean methods, and SAP. Automotive experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical or electromechanical engineering.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering on semi-automated/ automated assembly lines.
• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
• Familiar with APQP, lean manufacturing, PPAP, 8D, 5S.
• Knowledge of SAP, Allen Bradley controls, and servo equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations with process development, safety, quality, and cost.
• Coordinate with Product Line Managers, vendors, customers, and Engineering to ensure satisfaction and standards.
• Develop and enhance automated and manual systems for machine tending and material handling.
• Lead sourcing of new equipment and tools from RFQ through commissioning and start of production.
• Analyze workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve efficiency while upholding safety policies.
