Job summary

BorgWarner Arden campus is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Thermal Assembly to provide technical leadership and support for current manufacturing processes in automotive components production.

You will drive process development, safety, quality, and cost improvements across thermal assembly lines and related systems. You will collaborate with product lines, vendors, and engineering to ensure world-class manufacturing standards, implement lean processes, and guide equipment selection and

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in mechanical or electromechanical engineering.
At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in semi-automated or automated assembly lines.
Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Cognex Vision system programming experience is preferred.
DC electric torque systems experience is a plus.
Understanding of APQP process is required.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is required.
Experience with quality and lean processes and tools (PPAP, statistical analysis, 8D, 5S).
Working knowledge of SAP and CAD platforms (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Pro-E, Inventor).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing operations with process development, improvement, testing, safety, quality, and cost.
Coordinate with Product Line Managers, vendors, customers, and Product Development to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to standards.
Develop and enhance automated and manual systems for machine tending, material handling, and assembly operations.
Improve thermal assembly processes, balancing, fluid transfer systems, servo pressing operations, and verification systems.
Lead RFQ activity for new equipment and tools and shepherd them to production start.
Evaluate labor, material, and production costs and assist management decisions.
Ensure safe, compliant operations with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Apply project management tools to achieve optimal solutions and stay current on industry trends.
