Job summary

Langham Recruitment seeks a Senior Applications Engineer in Billerica, MA to lead design and qualification of liquid-metal TIM solutions for advanced semiconductor packaging, blending customer interaction with hands-on engineering. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on CAD, prototyping, thermal and mechanical testing, data analysis, and technical reporting.
• 3–7 years in semiconductor packaging, electronics assembly, TIM, or applications engineering in a technical B2B setting.
• Strong understanding of processor packaging and thermal system design, with related reliability testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development activities to integrate liquid-metal TIMs into customer packaging solutions.
• Develop and evaluate package and assembly mockups, including mechanical and reliability testing.
• Create and maintain detailed design documentation for fabrication and customer coordination.
• Manage fabrication activities to align with customer timelines and milestones.
• Partner with R&D to support product and system performance improvements.
• Serve as primary technical contact for ODM/OSAT/hyperscaler teams.
• Document customer technical requirements, thermal budgets, constraints, and reliability expectations.
• Prepare technical materials for qualification processes.
• Support testing, troubleshoot challenges, and coordinate cross-functional solutions.
• Gather customer feedback to inform product roadmaps.
