Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist level Thermal Analyst to advance thermal design, analysis, and test for space systems in Wilmington, MA. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to optimize optical and thermal performance in harsh environments.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background with extensive thermal analysis experience and strong documentation for design reviews. A TS/SCI clearance is desirable; relocation is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience; graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3 years experience in thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop (preferred), Sinda, Thermal Fluent, Icepak, etc.
• 1+ years experience with thermal vacuum testing
• Professional experience working on aerospace/space programs

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of system level thermal design & development, payload level integration and test, and risk mitigation for space-based environments.
• Perform thermal design and analysis on complex hardware including precision mechanisms and avionics.
• Create and analyze design concepts using FEA & thermal analysis software.
• Lead requirements derivation, system architecture development, loads derivation, design optimization, and test activities.
