Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr Specialist, Thermal Analyst Mechanical Engineer (Space Systems) for on-site work in Fort Wayne, IN or Palm Bay, FL. The role focuses on thermal analysis of spaceborne precision optics and cryogenic systems, leading small teams and developing thermal architectures for IR payloads.

Candidates should have a STEM degree with 6+ years in aerospace thermal analysis, experience with Thermal Desktop and related tools, and the ability to obtain a DoD security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM required.
• 6+ years of prior thermal analysis experience in aerospace environments.
• 3+ years with Thermal Desktop (TD) tool.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal analysis of precision optics for IR payloads and cryogenic systems.
• Develop detailed thermal models for all mission phases including hot/cold, eclipse and orbital variations.
• Lead small teams of thermal analysts and coordinate with design/test engineering.
