Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, or a related discipline; PhD strongly preferred.
• Deep hands-on expertise with DSC, TGA, SDT, gas analysis techniques (FTIR, MS, GCMS); TA Instruments hardware/software preferred.
• Significant industrial or applications experience in thermal analysis testing or materials characterization.
• Demonstrated scientific leadership in thermal analysis applications and data interpretation.
• Proven ability to collaborate with R&D, engineering, software, and product teams to influence features.
• Experience partnering with customers/KOLs to define measurement requirements and generate impactful data; travel 20-30%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal scientific advisor for R&D; contribute to DSC, TGA, SDT feature definition and roadmaps.
• Lead scientific strategy for thermal analysis; develop new applications, protocols, workflows, and data analysis.
• Produce technical content: application notes, white papers, method guides, benchmarking reports.
• Drive pre- and post-sales engagements; conduct demonstrations, feasibility testing, and method development.
• Deliver training courses, seminars, and product demos in lab, virtually, and at customer sites.
• Maintain the New Castle Applications Lab and ensure instruments and facilities are safe and ready.
