Job summary

Waters Corporation is seeking a Senior Applications Scientist to lead rheology and dynamic mechanical analysis within the Materials Sciences division. This role combines deep rheology expertise with pre- and post-sales support, applications development, and customer training across global teams.

The successful candidate will guide internal teams, mentor scientists, and drive next-generation instrument and software design. Travel 20–30% is required to support customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related discipline; PhD strongly preferred.
• Deep hands-on expertise with rotational and oscillatory rheometry, DMA, and analytical instrumentation.
• Experience leading scientific teams and translating voice-of-customer into product insights.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal scientific advisor for rheology and DMA feature definitions and roadmaps.
• Lead rheology strategy, including new applications, protocols, workflows, and data analysis.
• Produce technical content (application notes, white papers, method guides, benchmarking).
• Drive high-value pre- and post-sales engagements for rotational rheology and DMA; demonstrations and collaborations.
• Own complex troubleshooting and provide expert technical support to sales and global teams.
• Develop and deliver lectures, hands-on trainings, seminars, and product demonstrations in the Applications Lab and at customer sites.
• Maintain the New Castle Applications Lab, instruments, geometries, and accessories in a safe, organized condition.
