Zusammenfassung

Christian Health Care Center in Lynden, WA seeks a Therapeutic Recreation Program Coordinator to enrich quality of life for older adults through engaging, person-centered activities.

You will develop, coordinate and implement therapeutic programs, assess progress, document plans, and collaborate with residents, families and CHCC staff. Work is primarily Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or related field preferred.
• Equivalent experience can substitute for degree.
• CTRS certification preferred.
• Experience with older adults or dementia preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide a therapeutic environment that maintains each person’s highest level of physical, social and psychological well-being.
• Develop, coordinate and implement programs and services for individuals with cognitive impairment.
• Lead therapeutic recreation programs and assist residents with participation in individual and group programs.
• Collect information to formulate a therapeutic recreation assessment and contribute to care plans; interview family, friends and community agency representatives as needed.
• Develop a written therapeutic recreation plan of care for each resident that identifies the challenges and goals to be accomplished.
• Complete a therapeutic recreation review at least quarterly. Document progress toward therapeutic recreation goals.
• Provide coverage for CHCC’s therapeutic recreation direction as needed.
