Job summary

Ruggable is seeking a Senior Technical Product Developer to lead development and commercialization of rugs and home textiles. You will translate design concepts into technical specifications and collaborate with overseas factories to meet quality, performance, and cost targets.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on textile product development, deep knowledge of yarns, fabrics, and finishing, and can mentor cross‑functional teams across Design, Sourcing, Quality, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Textile Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Development, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive technical product development experience in rugs or home textiles.
• Extensive hands-on knowledge of textile materials, yarns, fibers, constructions, finishing techniques, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with overseas factories and suppliers.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing feasibility, cost engineering, product performance, quality, and scalability.
• Experience creating and maintaining detailed product specifications and technical documentation.
• Excellent project-management and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and commercialization of rugs and home textile products from concept through production handover.
• Translate design concepts into detailed technical specifications, constructions, materials, and performance requirements.
• Partner with overseas factories to develop yarns, fabrics, finishes, and constructions that meet aesthetic, quality, and cost targets.
• Provide technical expertise across weaving, tufting, knitting, finishing, and related textile processes.
• Identify risks and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Own development timelines and milestones with cross-functional teams.
• Lead pre-production trials and ensure scalable production of approved products.
• Maintain product quality and performance standards with QA and Compliance teams.
• Build strong technical relationships with global suppliers and factories.
