Job summary

Ruggable, based in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead global inline product sourcing strategy, strengthen supplier diversity, onboard new capabilities, and drive cost, quality, and supply-chain resilience.

You will partner with Product Development, R&D, Merchandising, Creative, Quality, and Planning to value engineer products, explore alternative materials, and commercialize innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, textiles, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive global sourcing experience with internationally distributed supplier/manufacturing base.
• Proven success in managing strategic vendor relationships including negotiations and performance management.
• Deep knowledge of international factories, mills, manufacturing capabilities, raw materials, logistics, tariffs, duties, and global supply chains.
• Experience in textiles, home décor, rugs, floor coverings, or related soft-goods sourcing.
• Strong understanding of product development and commercialization including costing, scheduling, capacity, and delivery execution.

Responsibilities

Job Summary: As the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will lead the development and execution ofRuggable’s global sourcing strategy for inline product. You will strengthen and diversify the supplier base,identify and onboard new suppliers and manufacturing capabilities, and build strategic partnerships thatsupport the company’s growth, margin, quality, innovation, and supply-chain objectives. You will own vendor management and relations, establishing performance expectations, drivingcontinuous improvement, and addressing issues that may affect cost, quality, capacity, lead time, service,or delivery. As a strategic partner within Operations, you will collaborate with Product Development, R&D,Merchandising, Creative, Quality, Planning, and other teams to value engineer products, identifyalternative materials and manufacturing solutions, and support successful commercialization.You will also lead counter- and dual-sourcing initiatives, evaluate new markets and capabilities, monitorglobal sourcing conditions, and develop solutions that improve competitiveness and reduce supply-chainrisk.

What You’ll Do:

• Own strategic vendor relationships across Ruggable’s global supplier base for inline product, serving as a key point of contact and fostering partnerships grounded in transparency, accountability, performance, and mutual growth
• Develop and execute global sourcing, supplier diversification, and risk-mitigation strategies aligned withcompany, product, margin, and supply-chain objectives
• Set vendor expectations and manage performance across cost, quality, innovation, capacity, lead time,delivery, responsiveness, and service, using business reviews and corrective action plans to driveimprovement
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, negotiate with, and onboard suppliers, factories, mills, and manufacturingregions that expand capabilities, improve competitiveness, and address capacity or assortment needs
• Lead counter-sourcing and dual-sourcing strategies for key and best-selling categories to improve cost,flexibility, continuity, and resilience
• Determine optimal factory and country placement based on product requirements, supplier capabilities,manufacturing technology, quality, capacity, cost, tariffs, lead times, logistics, and delivery needs
• Develop sourcing strategies for fabrics, yarns, raw materials, and components that balance quality,innovation, cost, speed, and supply security
• Identify opportunities to nominate or consolidate raw material suppliers when doing so creates strategic,quality, or cost advantages
• Partner with Product Development and R&D to commercialize innovative products, evaluate alternativematerials and processes, and value engineer products to achieve target costs and margins withoutcompromising performance or quality
• Lead negotiations covering costing, payment terms, MOQs, capacity, lead times, tooling, raw materials,and other commercial terms
• Analyze costs, prices, margins, commodities, and market conditions to identify savings opportunities,margin risks, and negotiation leverage
• Monitor tariffs, duties, geopolitical developments, raw material trends, manufacturing capacity, logistics,and regional supply-chain conditions, recommending sourcing actions as needed
• Partner cross-functionally to execute sourcing strategies and onboard new suppliers, regions, materials,and manufacturing capabilities
• Develop tools, reporting, and operating practices that improve vendor visibility, accountability, speed,and reliability
• Identify and address production, costing, capacity, quality, compliance, and delivery risks, coordinatingcorrective actions with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Support time-to-market initiatives by streamlining sourcing, development, commercialization, andvendor processes
• Conduct supplier business reviews and factory visits to assess capabilities, performance, capacity,opportunities, and strategic fit
• Lead and mentor direct reports and/or overseas sourcing teams, setting priorities and supportingprofessional development
• Manage in-region contractors (India, China sourcing associates)
• Support special projects and strategic sourcing initiatives as assigned

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Textiles, or a related field. Equivalentrelevant industry experience may be considered
• 7+ years of progressive global sourcing experience, including responsibility for an internationally distributed supplier and manufacturing base
• Demonstrated success managing strategic vendor relationships, including negotiations, performancemanagement, corrective actions, and supplier development
• Deep knowledge of international factories, mills, manufacturing capabilities, raw materials, logistics,tariffs, duties, and global supply chains
• Experience in textiles, home décor, rugs, floor coverings, or related soft-goods manufacturing andsourcing
• Strong understanding of product development and commercialization, including T&A calendars, criticalpath management, costing, production planning, capacity, and delivery execution
• Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies that improve cost, margin, quality, speed, capacity, andsupply-chain resilience
• Strong commercial acumen, including cost analysis, value engineering, supplier negotiations, andmargin management
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communicationskills
• Ability to identify risks, develop practical solutions, and influence internal and external stakeholders
• Experience managing multiple complex suppliers, projects, and priorities with strong attention to detail
• Experience managing and developing direct reports, overseas teams, and/or cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to work evenings as needed with international suppliers and teams
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally for supplier meetings, factory visits, market research,trade shows, and sourcing initiatives

• Established relationships within a qualified global supplier and manufacturing network
• Airtable proficiency
• Knowledge of regulatory and social compliance, product testing, and quality assurance standards
• Highly analytical and data-driven approach to sourcing strategy and decision-making
• Strong understanding of the home textiles industry, particularly rugs and floor covering

Compensation:

• $120,000-135,000 per year base salary based on experience
• An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
• Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
