Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc in Minnesota, Winona, is seeking a Test Operator to perform ICT and functional testing on systems assemblies and PCBs using a range of test equipment. You will setup, run, and document tests, inspect components, and help maintain quality records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 4+ years of advanced electronic test experience, plus ability to read schematics and operate DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of advanced electronic test experience.
• Ability to use hand tools and general test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscope, power supplies).
• Read schematics, drawings, and procedures for electronic assemblies.
• Comply with IPC quality and workmanship standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to train and cross-train and mentor others.
• Support a 24/7 global business operation and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sets up test equipment and understands test and assembly processes.
• Operates test equipment and records failure parameters in the QMS.
• Identifies component types and reads values for ICs, resistors, capacitors.
• Identifies workmanship defects and applies proper markings per QA procedures.
• Follows procedures to adjust frequency/voltage and observe meter readings.
• Maintains records of tested units, accepted or rejected.
• Configure and operate test equipment and interpret basic results.
• Relate results to PCB area to inspect defects at a high level.
• Suggest improvements to test procedures and equipment.
• Lead and mentor other Test Operators.
