Job summary

LEAP in Colorado seeks a Test Operations Technician Lead to oversee rocket engine and propulsion testing programs, lead test stand development, and support launch operations across methane/LOX propulsion systems. You will own core responsibilities and mentor technicians, advancing safety and quality in high-energy tests.

Candidates bring 5+ years of aerospace integration or propulsion testing, experience with cryogenic/high-pressure systems, and test stand fabrication and commissioning skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of aerospace integration or propulsion testing experience.
• Experience with cryogenic and high-pressure systems.
• Test stand fabrication and commissioning experience.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Ability to learn new tools, systems, or domains as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead LNG/LOX rocket engine testing and hot-fire operations.
• Execute cryogenic loading, pressurization, purge, and safing procedures.
• Integrate and test propulsion and flight hardware assemblies.
• Perform leak checks, proof testing, and instrumentation setup.
• Fabricate and commission test stands for integrated and system-level testing.
• Partner with engineering on high-energy test safety requirements and reviews.
• Support launch site operations and pad activities.
• Lead technician teams and make real-time calls during hot-fire and launch pad operations.
• Develop test procedures and safety documentation.
• Commissioned test stands and GSE, validated test procedures, completed hot-fire and proof test campaigns, and up-to-date safety documentation.
