Job summary

Rocket Lab, operating a state‑of‑the‑art test facility at NASA Stennis Space Center, seeks aSenior Manager to own propulsion test operations. You will lead engine test activities, supervise engineers and technicians, and drive safe, high‑cadence testing programs across multiple disciplines.

The role demands 10+ years in propulsion test leadership, a mechanical or aerospace engineering background, and a proven track record in complex project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or other technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in propulsion engineering and/or propulsion test leadership.
• Demonstrated experience supporting high paced technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engine test operations, test stand builds, engine assembly, and maintenance of test infrastructure.
• Mentor technical teams in high-pressure environments to ensure mission success.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets and schedules for cross‑department engine programs.
• Manage external contractors and suppliers involved in propulsion testing.
• Improve test site infrastructure to enable multiple engine tests per day; oversee site administration and logistics.
• Ensure health and safety of the team and compliance with safety protocols.
