Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Senior Equipment & Tool Engineer to join the Test Equipment Engineering team in Heath, OH. You will analyze, procure, and manage spare parts for test stations, drive obsolescence mitigation, and lead engineering change processes with cross-functional teams.

The role requires coordinating with suppliers, maintaining BOMs, and presenting design changes to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in test equipment support, spare parts management, procurement coordination, or obsolescence management in aerospace/defense/electronics.
• Experience with ECR/ECN processes, BOM/PLM systems, and ERP/MRP tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze spare parts and electronic component requirements for all test stations; maintain accurate spare parts lists and forecasts.
• Work with test engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and logistics to define, prioritize, and obtain required parts.
• Source and manage relationships with vendors and distributors; ensure delivery schedules and quality requirements.
• Monitor component lifecycle and lead obsolescence risk assessments; identify alternatives and design changes.
• Coordinate design updates between engineers for hardware, firmware, and test station software; capture ECRs and drive ECNs.
• Maintain and update BOMs, CAD/PLM records, and spare parts databases; reflect current configurations.
