Job summary

AeroVironment in Simi Valley, CA seeks a Sr. Test Equipment Engineer to design and implement cost-effective test methods for components and systems in development and manufacturing. You will support integration and testing of unmanned aircraft systems and payloads.

The role requires C# OOP software development in Visual Studio, with NI TestStand and LabVIEW experience. You will drive test plans, analyze results, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical or Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12 years’ experience in development test solutions in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with NI TestStand and LabVIEW.
• Ability to write Test Plans from requirements and specs.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, troubleshoot, and upgrade test equipment for PCBs, subsystems, and systems.
• Perform C# software development in Visual Studio; NI TestStand and LabVIEW required.
• Develop test plans, requirements, and strategies; analyze test results.
• Lead and coordinate team activities; deliver on aggressive timelines.
• Advise design teams to improve testability and manufacturability.
• Execute functional, performance, and environmental tests on avionics power/propulsion components.
