Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. seeks a Sr.

Test Equipment Engineer to design, develop and implement cost-effective testing methods for PCBAs, sub-systems and systems across product development and manufacturing. The role supports the integration and testing of unmanned aircraft systems and payloads, requires C# / OOP development in Visual Studio, NI TestStand and LabVIEW, and leads test plans and strategies with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Software Engineering required or equivalent.
• 8–12 years in development test solutions for manufacturing.
• Experience with NI TestStand and LabVIEW or certified.
• Experience writing test plans from requirements and specs.
• Ability to estimate costs and lead times for tests.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical design and test instrumentation.
• Experience with manual and automated testing methods across product lifecycles.
• Proficient in writing bug reports and root-cause analyses.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, deploys and upgrades test equipment for PCBAs and systems.
• Uses C# / OOP development in Visual Studio; works with NI TestStand & LabVIEW.
• Develops test plans, requirements and strategies.
• Analyzes, formats and reports test results.
• Drives for results and meets aggressive project timelines.
• Collaborates with diverse teams across disciplines.
• Supports testability improvements in product design.
• Develops power conversion devices and avionics from design to testing.
• Executes functional, performance and environmental tests on avionics components.
