Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer in Reston, VA to ensure quality during government system modernization. The role focuses on UI testing, backend debugging, and compliance with federal cybersecurity and accessibility standards.

Hybrid work on-site and remote is offered, with collaboration across security teams and developers. Responsibilities include designing test plans, executing functional/regression tests, API validation, and maintaining UI automation within GitLab

Qualifications

• Experience in functional and regression testing of UI web applications.
• Ability to perform backend troubleshooting by reviewing logs and traces.
• Proficient with defect tracking systems and SQL queries for data validation.
• Experience testing with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.
• Familiar with Windows Server environments and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for upgrades and features.
• Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web apps.
• Conduct UI validation and cross-browser testing.
• Execute manual testing for complex scenarios.
• Review and debug backend logs and API responses.
• Validate system cybersecurity and accessibility compliance (Section 508/WCAG).
• Develop and maintain UI automation for regression testing and integrate with GitLab CI/CD.
