Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Software Test Engineer with strong UI testing expertise and backend debugging skills to ensure quality and compliance during the modernization of a critical government information system.

This hybrid role is 3 days onsite and 2 days work from home in Reston, VA, Annapolis Junction, MD or Washington, DC and requires an active TS/SCI CI Polygraph. You will lead test planning, regression testing, API validation, and automation efforts, collaborate with

Qualifications

• 18 years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering roles or related field.
• Active TS/SCI CI Polygraph
• Extensive UI web testing experience including cross-browser validation.
• Backend troubleshooting via logs to determine root cause.
• Proficient defect tracking and SQL querying for data validation.
• Experience with system buildouts (installation, configuration, integration).
• Experience testing enterprise apps in Windows Server environments.
• Familiarity with UI automation frameworks and GitLab CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for upgrades and features.
• Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web apps.
• Conduct UI validation and cross-browser testing.
• Execute manual testing for complex scenarios.
• Review and debug backend logs.
• Perform API testing for RESTful services.
• Perform database checks with SQL queries.
• Manage system builds and integration.
• Track defects and coordinate resolutions.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and security teams.
• Document results and generate quality metrics.
