Form Energy in Berkeley, CA is hiring a Sr. Test Engineer (Process Development) to lead commissioning and testing of our largest lab-scale batteries. You will drive safe, efficient workflows and develop robust testing procedures with automation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate lab learnings into scalable field practices, maintain documentation, and advance data integrity while supporting system deployment and training.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical or electrical engineering and 4+ years of method development.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A safety first mindset.
• Proven experience owning procedures and work instructions in evolving subject matter.
• Hands-on expertise executing tests across diverse systems.
• Lab environment experience with electrical hazards and SDS usage.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL and data-analysis tooling for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the processes for commissioning and testing our largest lab scale batteries.
• Create and maintain robust documentation and supplementary material to turn valuable knowledge into resources for use and context across the company.
• Optimize procedures, evolving quick-turn workflows into refined strategies, focusing on safety, efficiency and data integrity.
• Contribute to translating best practices into the field to aid downstream procedures.
• Formulate and implement automation strategies utilizing Python and in-house testing software to streamline battery testing and improve data acquisition.
• Maintain a multi-faceted understanding of our product from fluid and electrical systems to electrochemistry for informed decisions on best practices.
• Work with engineers, technicians, and project managers to deploy and maintain test systems and provide training on owned processes.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure effective system deployment and maintenance.
