Job summary

Form Energy in Berkeley, CA is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Test Infrastructure team. You will design and deploy lab equipment for large-scale testing of iron-air battery systems, developing mechanical and fluid handling components and electronics test stands to support HIL testing.

You will collaborate across engineering and operations to keep tests online, document changes, and train technicians, with relocation assistance available as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of industry experience in mechanical, fluid, and/or electronic systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drafting using SolidWorks or similar.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and deployment of lab equipment for testing large numbers of battery cells and modules, and related electronics/hardware.
• Design, draft, and manufacture mechanical components and assemblies for test stands (pumps, fans, piping).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to diagnose equipment issues and keep tests online.
• Develop scalable documentation and change management systems.
