Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Test Engineer for its Systems Test organization in Weirton, WV. You will deploy, execute, and validate multi-pack test assets, ensuring BMS hardware and power electronics are verified.

The role demands hands-on hardware-in-the-loop or lab experience and a principled troubleshooting mindset, with relocation assistance available. You will lead daily test operations, write detailed test procedures, and report findings from telemetry streams, maintaining high safety

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
5+ years of hands-on experience in systems test, hardware validation, or laboratory test integration (battery, EV, grid-scale storage, or heavy industrial sectors).
Strong familiarity with low-voltage wiring, high-voltage battery configurations, sensors (thermal, pressure, flow), and actuators.
Experience running, editing, or building test scripts and analysis scripts in Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar.

Responsibilities

Own the daily operations, test sequencing, and safe execution of validation campaigns on multi-pack integrated test assets.
Write and implement highly detailed, repeatable test procedures that validate auxiliary systems, BMS hardware, harnessing, and software/hardware integration points.
Act as the primary hands-on triager when test anomalies occur, bridging hardware, software, controls, and fluidic systems to identify root causes.
Process and review telemetry and data streams, validating data integrity and synthesizing findings into clear, actionable test reports.
Manage daily lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) requirements, verify safety interlock setups, and maintain 5S standards within the high-energy laboratory environment.
Partner with on-site facilities, operations, and technicians to coordinate power drops, chiller setups, and general mechanical alignments for new test runs.
