Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Test Engineer to join our DevSecOps practice, delivering QA across application, cloud, and data systems. You will create test plans and cases, document results, and work with developers to ensure quality and security in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes automated testing, CI/CD integration, and mentoring junior team members, with collaboration across product design and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• BS degree in IT or related IT experience with 2+ years in IT
• Experience with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• Experience with programming or scripting languages
• DevSecOps experience in an Agile environment
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience implementing test automation tools (Selenium, Appium, SoapUI, RestAssured, Postman)
• Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with performance and load testing
• MS degree preferred; various certifications listed

Responsibilities

• Understand stakeholder needs and convey to developers
• Meet with product design to determine testing parameters
• Write test plans, test cases, procedures, bug reports, QA reports
• Manage test data architecture and requests
• Troubleshoot errors and streamline test procedures
• Conduct diverse testing (functional, performance, usability, accessibility)
• Establish automated testing tools and infrastructure
• Validate testing for cloud migrations
• Develop automated testing scripts with parallelization and idempotency
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment and release processes
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats
• Collaborate with developers to ensure processes are followed
• Document as-is state and perform gap analysis with actionable recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization for testing
• Contribute to DevSecOps process improvements
• Present status updates and mentor junior team members
