Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Test Engineering Team Lead to drive QA quality across cloud, data, and application systems. You will lead a team of QA and test automation professionals in an Agile/DevSecOps environment, guiding technical delivery, client relationships, and strategic testing initiatives.

The role requires 5–7 years leading QA teams, strong automation experience with Selenium, Appium, and REST tools, and hands-on DevSecOps practices including Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
• BS Degree in IT field OR BS in non-IT field with 2 years IT experience.
• Proven experience leading deployment of enterprise and custom software solutions in client environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and consult while providing leadership to sponsors/stakeholders.
• 5 years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
• 5 years of experience with programming or scripting languages.
• 5 years of Application DevSecOps experience in an Agile environment.
• Experience utilizing Docker containers and platforms such as Kubernetes.
• 5 years of experience implementing test automation with Selenium, Appium, SoapUI, RestAssured, Postman.
• 3 years of experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• 3 years of experience with performance and load testing.
• Preferred: MS Degree and certifications such as CAST, ISTQB, CMST, DHS TTv5.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the technical delivery leader, accountable for completing team delivery with quality oversight and client acceptance.
• Fosters innovative thinking across the client environment.
• Builds and maintains client relationships and develops strategic visions for clients and internal teams.
• Manages staff, monitors performance and training to enable career advancement.
• Collaborates with product design to determine testing parameters.
• Writes test plans, test cases, procedures, and final QA reports for products.
• Develops automated testing scripts and test data architectures.
• Troubleshoots and streamlines test procedures; ensures tests cover data validation, functional, performance, usability and accessibility.
• Establishes automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automation.
• Presents status updates and provides cross-training to DevOps team members.
• Leads and mentors team members; supports sales and technical strategy.
