Job summary

Steampunk is seeking an Automated Test Engineer to design and implement automated testing for mission-critical client projects. You will deliver hands-on QA, build test plans, and drive test automation across environments.

The role emphasizes CI/CD integration, security, and collaboration with developers in an Agile setting. Strong scripting, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• BS Degree in an IT field or a non-IT degree plus 2 years IT experience
• 5 Years of experience with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• 5 Years of experience with programming or scripting languages
• 5 Years of DevSecOps experience in Agile environments
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• 5 Years of test automation with Selenium, Appium, SoapUI, RestAssured, Postman
• Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with performance and load testing
• Experience with one or more cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Responsibilities

• Understand stakeholder needs and translate to developers
• Collaborate with product design to determine testing parameters
• Write test plans, test cases, procedures, and QA reports
• Manage test data architecture and requests
• Troubleshoot errors and streamline test procedures
• Perform data, functional, performance, usability, and accessibility testing
• Establish automated testing tools and infrastructure
• Validate testing across cloud migrations
• Develop automated test scripts with parallelization and idempotency
• Automate development, testing, deployment, and release processes
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats
• Work with developers to ensure processes are followed
• Document current environments and perform gap analysis
• Leverage virtualization and containerization for testing
• Improve DevSecOps processes and tools
• Provide status updates and cross-train team members
• Act as individual contributor and mentor juniors
