Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a seasoned test engineer to design and manage realistic HWIL/SWIL environments and integrated test campaigns for advanced defense systems.

You will translate contractual requirements into comprehensive test solutions, develop and execute ITPs, and collaborate across engineering teams, suppliers, and customers, while ensuring compliance with safety and export-control requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited university with 12+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degrees with fewer years.
• US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• 8+ years of experience in integrated test planning and hardware-in-the-loop testing for defense or aerospace systems.
• Experience developing and executing test automation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage test environments for Phase 2 and future phases.
• Translate requirements into system-level test solutions balancing performance, schedule, and cost.
• Develop and execute integrated test plans and schedules for subsystem and system-level tests.
• Maintain Integrated Test Plan (ITP) and verification artifacts; ensure traceability.
• Coordinate test activities across internal teams, lab operations, range organizations, and external suppliers.
• Analyze test results and provide data-driven recommendations to improve design and reduce risk.
• Review supplier test efforts and approve test data and results.
• Lead proof-of-concept tests to mitigate early program risks during Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction.
