Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a results-driven Senior Territory Manager to own a defined geographic territory, drive profitable premium growth and improve agency performance across a broad commercial product portfolio.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to independent agents, balancing day-to-day small commercial flow with strategic pursuits of larger accounts, leveraging relationship management, data-driven strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize territory performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum six years of progressively more responsible insurance sales and management.
• Advanced knowledge of company services, products, marketing techniques, insurance contracts, risk funding and rating plans.
• Proven track record of revenue growth and sales success in a prior role.
• Proven success in developing and building partnerships, decision making and problem solving.
• Advanced knowledge of the business including production management, claims, loss prevention, underwriting, administration, sales operations and agency business operations.
• Strong written and oral communication, presentation, negotiation skills.
• High degree of customer focus and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced analytical thinking and business development skills.
• Must be licensed by the state if required.
• Ability to travel daily with occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage an assigned geographic territory, driving profitable growth and achieving targets.
• Lead agency management activities including planning, engagement, training, compensation, and optimization.
• Manage a large agency footprint (100+ storefronts) and optimize territory performance.
• Build and sustain relationships with agency owners and staff through in-person engagement.
• Deliver product expertise, underwriting philosophy, appetite guidance, and system training.
• Develop and execute agency and territory strategies aligned to enterprise priorities.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product management, claims, and risk control teams.
• Mentor peers and contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
