Job summary

Kent is seeking a Principal Telecoms Engineer based in Houston, TX. You will support FEED, Detailed Engineering, and brownfield/greenfield scopes for proposals and execution projects in the Gulf Coast region.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical telecom expertise, 15+ years in industrial environments, and a Texas P.E. license (preferred). You will interface with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to lead engineering activities and deliverables on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 15+ years of relevant telecoms experience in industrial or energy environments.
• P.E. license in Texas preferred or able to obtain by comity (NCEES).
• Experience with fiber optic systems, structured cabling, LAN/WAN, wireless.
• Familiarity with industrial telecom systems (CCTV, access control, PA/GA).
• FEED and brownfield/greenfield project experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review telecom system design packages, including data, voice, fiber, wireless, PAGA and security systems.
• Lead Telecom Engineer on FEED, Detailed Engineering, and projects.
• Perform system integration reviews and technical evaluations.
• Provide troubleshooting support for telecom networks and systems.
• Prepare telecom specifications, datasheets, and scope documents.
• Interface with vendors and client teams to clarify requirements and evaluate equipment.
