Job summary

Worley Consulting is seeking a Principal Telecommunications Engineer – Offshore Communication Systems for our Houston office. The role focuses on leading design and integration of offshore telecom systems supporting FPSOs, drilling platforms, and marine operations.

Strong leadership and offshore experience are essential. You will oversee FEED/DEED phases, develop material lists and specifications, and coordinate with multi‑discipline teams to deliver safe, reliable communications.

Qualifications

• Experience in Offshore Oil & Gas telecom systems design and implementation.
• Proven leadership in multi-discipline projects and teams.
• Fluent in English; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and integration of Offshore Communication Systems for offshore facilities (GMDSS, lifeboat comms, ship-to-shore, VSAT).
• Define high-level architectures, topologies and cable routing plans.
• Coordinate with Automation, IT, Electrical and Operations teams to ensure alignment and integration.
• Review vendor packages, prepare technical specifications and support FAT/SAT activities.
• Provide technical guidance during construction, commissioning and handover.
• Travel as required for field programs.
