Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to design complex telecom solutions for the power/utility sector. You will create detailed SLDs and construction packages, verify feasibility, document site details, and assemble design packages that meet client standards for construction.

You’ll collaborate with management, substation and field teams throughout the project, and use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office to produce precise documentation and deliverables that support

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent. PE preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in researching and architecting/designing complex telecommunication solutions for utilities.
• Must be able to pass a NERC CIP level background check.
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a valid Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Research and create engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions in the Power/Utility industry.
• Create designs: Detailed single line diagrams (SLD), and full construction packages for robust telecommunications solutions: OPGW/ADSS/DWDM Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz & Repeaters, Satellite, Radio, FAN, Circuit Paths, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
• Create and markup SLDs, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, tower drawings, etc.
• Multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with management, substation, Transmission, Distribution, Specialists. And field technicians.
• Use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite to create detailed documentation and designs.
