Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to design complex telecom solutions for the power/utility sector, prepare BOMs and construction packages, verify implementation feasibility, document site details, and develop a full design package meeting client standards.

You will collaborate with management, substation teams, transmission, distribution, specialists, and field technicians, using Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office to produce detailed documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; PE preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in researching and architecting telecom solutions for utilities.
• US Citizen or Green Card holder; able to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Research and craft engineering designs for complex telecom solutions in Power/Utility.
• Create designs: SLDs and full construction packages for OPGW/ADSS/DWDM, fiber, microwave, and related tech.
• Markup SLDs and interconnect diagrams; coord. WAN/LAN and tower drawings.
• Multitask and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
• Collaborate with management, substation, transmission, distribution, specialists, and field teams.

Position Overview

Power Your Future with Qualus as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer. Our Telecom Engineers focus on complex engineering designs, BOM's, and construction packages for telecommunications solutions while providing support throughout the construction process. Responsibilities include verifying implementation feasibility, documenting site details, creating a full design package that meets client standards for construction, and collaborating within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and create engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions in the Power/Utility industry
• Create designs: Detailed single line diagrams (SLD), and full construction packages for robust telecommunications solutions: OPGW/ADSS/DWDM Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz & Repeaters, Satellite, Radio, FAN, Circuit Paths, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
• Create and markup SLDs, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, tower drawings, etc.
• Multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with management, substation, Transmission, Distribution, Specialists. And field technicians.
• Use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite to create detailed documentation and designs.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent. PE preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in researching and architecting/designing complex telecommunication solutions for utilities.
• Must be able to pass a NERC CIP level background check.
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a valid Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) to be considered.
