Newport News Public Schools is seeking a Technology Support Specialist III to install, diagnose, and repair computer hardware, software, and network connectivity across campuses. You will troubleshoot complex issues, provide end-user support, and assist with documentation and procedures.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in computer science or related field, experience with Windows OS, Active Directory, and network protocols, and a valid driver’s license.

Competenze

• Must possess an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related field with significant experience in computer system support and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Dell equipment, Microsoft OS and Applications, HP printers, and SMART technologies is highly desirable.
• Experience with local area networks, Active Directory, TCP/IP, OSI model, DHCP and DNS preferred.

Mansioni

• Installs, maintains, and repairs computer hardware, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.
• Performs diagnostics and preventative maintenance to keep systems operational.
• Troubleshoots complex system problems and documents resolutions and configurations.
• Interacts with end-users to resolve issues and provides technical guidance as needed.
• Travels to schools/sites as required and supports training for staff.
