Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company is seeking an experienced Senior Technology Designer to join our team in a leadership role reporting to the Director of Technology. You will mentor Designers, review drawings and specifications, and write new TD details while coordinating across multiple projects and markets to meet client expectations.

Ideal candidates have engineering credentials (RCDD recommended; PE optional) and 15–20 years of experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree required; RCDD recommended; PE optional.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Designer level staff on responsibilities.
• Review drawings and specs for Designers to meet scope of work.
• Write new specification sections and develop details for project needs.
• Direct Designer’s quality on RFI answers and reviews.
• Travel to project sites to review progress and solve problems within time/budget.
• Develop and monitor work plans with PM.
• Review code-related items with Designers for compliance.
• Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
• Write studies and reports for Technology Design Systems on projects.
• Execute complex TD designs with minimal input and coordination.
• Market Sector – TD expert for multiple market sectors.
• Write industry white papers.
• Ability to manage projects.
