Job summary

Arkansas Children’s in Springdale, AR is hiring an MRI Technologist to join the MRI Technology team. This part-time, safety-sensitive role (32 hrs/wk) requires an Associate degree or equivalent and ARRT MRI certification; a Bachelor's degree is recommended.

The incumbent will perform diagnostic scans, uphold safety standards, and may serve as a Preceptor. Eligible imaging professionals may receive a $10K sign-on bonus and up to $36,000 in loan repayment through Clasp.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year program or technical school.
  • Bachelor's degree recommended for advancement and scope.
  • Direct MRI experience and appropriate certifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans and ensure image quality.
  • Apply correct scan protocols and optimize study length.
  • Screen patients for safety and contraindications for MRI.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper function of the workspace.
  • Support service recovery and communicate with patients and families.

Description
  • Is an expert MRI Technologist and may serve as a Preceptor in the skills to perform diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.
  • Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor, in the utilization of correct scan protocols while optimizing image quality, decreasing scan length and repeat procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
  • May serve as a Preceptor to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
  • May serve as a Preceptor in adhering to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • May serve as a Preceptor in troubleshooting and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
  • Assists with service recovery, ensuring proactive communication with patients and families.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
