The position involves assisting with sample collection of materials such as soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental testing, compiling construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data related to landfill and environmental remediation projects, documenting all field activities accurately, and supporting geologists and engineers for various private and public sector projects. The role requires the ability to understand construction plans and specifications, perform extensive fieldwork and travel, including overnight stays, weekends, and holidays, and work outdoors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory tests on soil, geosynthetics, and other materials related to landfill and waste containment construction.
• Conduct moisture-density testing to verify compaction requirements.
• Oversee drilling, logging of borings, and instrumentation installation.
• Monitor activities on job sites to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Provide CQA monitoring for various construction and environmental activities.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports, schedules, and progress updates.
• Ensure project documentation aligns with company policies.
• Coordinate with project personnel and participate in work progress meetings.
• Assist in preparing final reports, work plans, safety documents, and report appendices.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks such as environmental sampling, contractor oversight, or quality assurance as needed.
• Training: OSHA, radiation safety, first aid, and CPR training provided by Geosyntec. Opportunities for professional development are available.
• Fieldwork: Up to 100%
• Overnight travel: Up to 100%

Education and Licensure

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of applicable experience; or an Associate degree with 2 years of experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related fields; or equivalent experience and training.
• Experience with mechanical systems and remediation technologies is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Strong math skills, including geometry and algebra.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with a strong work ethic.
• Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform outdoor activities at construction sites.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work in the field.
• Health and safety training, medical monitoring, and background checks required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
