Job summary

CAC I International Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer T4 in the Sterling, VA area (also Sarasota, FL) to manage a high-volume set of complex government documents.

The role emphasizes independent work with some collaboration with Systems Engineers and teams, ensuring accurate, well-structured technical writing and governance deliverables. You will develop and refine user guides, procedures, and installation standards, while maintaining strict schedules and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass a polygraph
• 4-year college degree and 6+ years heavy writing with US Military customers or 8+ years in Intelligence Community; Master’s may substitute for 2 years
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills with impeccable grammar and spelling
• Strong editing skills
• Initiative to expand technical and soft skills
• Deadline oriented; self-directed to meet deadlines
• Adaptability to fast-paced environment with occasional slow periods
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and PowerPoint; Visio, Excel, Teams, Adobe Acrobat Pro desirable

Responsibilities

• Work with Responsible Engineer to complete System Installation Standards volumes using SharePoint/Confluence data
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and other teams to update User Guides and governance documents
• Review and revise programmatic submissions to the COTR for clarity and visual appeal
• Ensure documents have strong structure, clarity, and narrative flow for customer delivery
• Become the program classification SME and mentor new Project Managers on documentation practices
• Create graphics, tables, and visual representations of information
