Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a senior technical writer to develop and maintain documentation for software and systems supporting government programs. You will gather information from engineers and subject-matter experts, produce architecture and user guides, and ensure compliance with scope, security, and accessibility requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, 5+ years of technical writing experience, and an active TS/SCI clearance with US

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communications, English, IT, CS, engineering, or related field.
• Five+ years of professional technical writing or documentation experience.
• Experience producing documentation for complex software/IT systems.
• Experience gathering information from developers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to document processes across requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Excellent written, verbal, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation for software applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Create system and software architecture documentation and user guides.
• Prepare installation, deployment, and SOP documents.
• Translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile ceremonies.
• Review requirements and artifacts to identify documentation needs.
• Maintain documentation standards, templates, and quality control.
• Support software releases with release notes and deployment docs.
