Job summary

Contiem is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to lead and enhance the quality of documentation across our diverse client portfolio. This role requires a 15+ year track record in technical writing and the ability to manage multiple projects while adapting to evolving client standards.

The ideal candidate will write for technical and non-technical audiences, collaborate with SMEs, PMs, and writers, and mentor junior staff to grow the documentation team.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technical writing experience.
• Experience gathering technical data from engineers, SMEs, and designers.
• Experience using XML editors such as oXygen, Arbortext or XMetal.
• Experience writing documentation in DITA/XML.
• Able to write for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Take a big-picture view of content and define the information model.
• Collaborate with SMEs, PMs, and writers to meet standards and audiences.
• Lead documentation projects from planning through publication across multiple clients.
• Create and update manuals, SOPs, online help, FAQs, knowledge bases.
• Ensure documents follow client and Contiem standards for accuracy.
• Proofread peers’ work and incorporate feedback.
• Use content management systems to manage documentation.
• Advocate for user experience by making docs intuitive and helpful.
• Mentor junior writers and help grow the team.
• Learn and implement new practices as required.
• Be detail-oriented and adhere to best practices of technical writing.
• Other duties as assigned.
