Job summary

Cisco Isovalent, now part of Cisco, is seeking a senior Technical Writer to support Cisco Hypershield and related cloud-native security and networking products. You will join a distributed documentation team and collaborate with engineers, solution architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guides.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 15+ years of related experience; or a Master's with 12+ years; or a PhD with 8+ years.
• 8+ years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting enterprise software products.
• Experience providing technical leadership for documentation initiatives across the product lifecycle.
• Experience with networking, security, or cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos, or similar.
• Experience creating user guides and technical documentation for enterprise users.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical documentation for Hypershield networking and security solutions, including concepts, tutorials, operational documentation and references.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to translate complex concepts into clear documentation.
• Work with products and environments to understand workflows, validate documentation, and identify gaps.
• Develop content for audiences with varying levels of technical experience.
• Evolve documentation practices and information architecture across the team.
• Collaborate with a geographically distributed team during EST/EDT overlap.
