Job summary

Dycom is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer to design, deliver, and assess comprehensive training for field technicians across multiple sites. You will develop multi-modal programs covering underground telecom plant, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will train technicians in trenching, cable placement, splicing, and equipment operation, while coordinating travel logistics and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• 8–10 years hands-on Underground Telecommunications Field Operations.
• Experience with trenching, excavation, conduit/cable placement.
• Excellent presentation and communication for adult learners.
• Prior experience as technical trainer or Field Supervisor/Lead.
• OSHA 10/30 or Enclosed Space Entry certifications.
• Willingness to travel domestically 65–75%.
• Proficient with mobile tech and remote conferencing for admin tasks.
• Highly organized with travel logistics management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing engaging training materials adaptable for various environments.
• Instruct technicians on industry best practices, company standards, and safety protocols.
• Assess competency via written exams and on-site evaluations.
• Deliver multi-modal training (classroom, lab, field) on underground telecom plant.
• Coordinate training logistics with local site management across locations.
• Adapt delivery methods to local operational needs and crew availability.
• Maintain detailed records of training sessions, attendance, and certifications.
• Collaborate with Training and Field Operations management to identify skill gaps.
• Champion a strong safety culture by training on OSHA and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance and conduct on-site safety audits during training.
