Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Trainer to develop, deliver, and assess comprehensive training for field technicians across a wide geographic territory. You will ensure teams gain necessary technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety adherence for underground telecommunications work.

You’ll design engaging materials, deliver multi-modal training, and coordinate logistics across multiple sites while maintaining thorough training records and compliance with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Underground Telecommunications Field Operations.
• Experience designing and delivering training for technicians and creating instructional materials.
• Proven knowledge of underground plant construction, trenching, and safety practices.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for adult learners across locations.
• Ability to travel domestically 65–75% of the time and coordinate with multiple sites.
• Certifications OSHA 10/30, enclosed space entry; proficient with mobile/remote reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of engaging, technically accurate training materials.
• Instruct technicians on industry best practices, company standards, and safety procedures.
• Assess technician competency via written exams and practical evaluations; provide remediation.
• Deliver multi-modal training (classroom, labs, on-the-job) on underground telecom plant topics.
• Coordinate logistics for booking and scheduling across locations with local site management.
• Adapt training methods to accommodate varying local operational needs and crew availability.
• Maintain detailed records of training sessions, attendance, and certifications using mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with Training and Field Operations management to identify skill gaps and report results.
• Champion safety culture by training on OSHA and related safety regulations.
