Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP in Johnson City, NY seeks a Senior Technical Trainer to develop and deliver technical training for utility, construction & maintenance teams. You will mentor novice trainers, coordinate daily schedules, and ensure training objectives are met efficiently.

You will create comprehensive materials, manage LMS accuracy, and align programs with department and company goals in collaboration with leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum years of experience: 5+ years in a relevant technical trade.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or other relevant area of study.
• Equivalent experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technical training programs tailored to meet organizational needs.
• Mentor and support new trainers, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their teaching abilities.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure programs align with departmental and Company goals.
• Develop training materials, such as presentations, worksheets, and instructor guides.
• Conduct training sessions using multiple mediums to maximize engagement and efficiency.
• Assess training effectiveness and improve programs based on feedback and results.
• Manage training resources and keep materials and equipment up-to-date.
• Stay informed about latest technological trends to incorporate into training programs.
• Evaluate trainee performance, provide feedback, and support improvements in technical competencies.
• Ensure 100% accuracy of Learning Management System to track competency and certifications.
