Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a professional safety/technical training consultant to deliver training across the Company. You will design materials, develop evaluation instruments, and analyze feedback.

The role may require extended periods at customer sites and up to 75% travel, with a base in Amarillo, TX or Henderson, CO. You will oversee apprenticeship programs, apply business processes and project management to training initiatives, and consult with customers to identify needs and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, or a technical field related to instruction is preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of training experience or equivalent technical work experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to effectively use Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional safety/technical training consulting across the Company/Enterprise.
• Utilize systematic approaches to training to develop and maintain training materials.
• Design evaluation instruments and analyze feedback for program improvements.
• Position may require extended periods at the customer site and up to 75% travel.
• Coordinate apprenticeship programs within regions and manage training programs.
• Consult with customers to identify business needs and objectives.
• Design and maintain testing instruments and perform statistical analysis to evaluate training impact.
• Perform technical and process improvement consulting.
