Remote with 50% travel (North and South America).
Salary Range: 125 -150K plus 25% annual bonus.
Our client is seeking a senior sales professional to expand sales business development in the Americas. This person will be responsible for helping with existing sales, while searching out, pursuing, and developing new sales primarily in the United States, but also in Canada, and Latin America when opportunities present themselves. Much of the Company’s existing business is in water purification, air purification and gold mining markets, and candidates with an extensive customer network in one of these industries are highly desired. A great deal of emphasis will be placed upon applications requiring the meeting of high purity standards, for which the client’s activated carbon products are widely known, and extremely well suited.
Responsibilities:
- Win sales by establishing technical differential/superiority at new and existing customers.
- Build trust, credibility, and strong relationships at all organizational levels, and functions, including but not limited to: production, engineering, purchasing, sales/marketing, management, and the executive level.
- Develop sustained and increasing sales into target markets by focusing on client’s overall objectives, and utilizing the tools of sales planning, forecasting, price evaluation and state of the art business development practices.
- Build upon existing business relationships at existing, and newly developed customers, and prospects.
- Bring value added selling approaches to new, and existing customers in order to either win business away from competitors, or by virtue of product and application knowledge show how to use client’s products in new ways, and/or locations.
- Prioritize potential business development targets, with contact frequency planning and follow-up plans; establishment of key contacts with relative importance in the purchasing process; timelines for introduction of various products; relative chances for successful business development at each; estimated potential for success, etc.
- Develop a knowledge database of existing customers, and prospects, with an emphasis upon what products are currently being used; the suppliers that are currently providing the products; marketplace trends and rumors; marketplace intelligence regarding the relative strength of representation into various accounts by supplying companies, i.e., “How good is the job being done?”.
- Communicate effectively with all work, and management functions within the organization so that all are aligned, and able to most effectively work toward achieving common goals.
Qualifications:
- A technical bachelor’s degree is required with additional education highly desirable.
- A degree in chemistry, or chemical engineering, are most sought, but other degrees will be considered.
- A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible sales of filtration products for applications requiring very high purity, into various segments of the industrial marketplace.
- Capability and willingness to travel extensively.
- A valid driver’s license with a positive driving record is required.
- A pre-employment drug screen, and background check, are also required.
