Job summary

Salient Motion is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to anchor our recruiting function on-site as we scale. You will lead full-cycle recruiting for core engineering roles and work closely with engineering leadership to define hiring criteria and sourcing strategies.

You will proactively source candidates in aerospace, defense, robotics, and advanced motion, while owning the candidate experience from screening to closing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience.
• Track record of hiring hardware, mechanical, electrical, robotics, or embedded software engineers.
• Proven success sourcing and closing passive candidates for hard-to-fill, specialized roles.
• Experience operating autonomously, supporting recruiting while a manager works remotely or across sites.
• Strong presence and sound judgment; trusted advisor to engineering leadership.
• Ability to work in a startup environment with high ownership and ambiguity.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; manage multiple searches simultaneously.
• Experience with ATS platforms (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby) and modern sourcing tools.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for core engineering requisitions across hardware, embedded/firmware, controls, mechanical design, robotics, and software engineering.
• Take on a significant share of the team’s current recruiting load as the company scales.
• Serve as the senior, on-site point of contact for recruiting; run day-to-day operations independently.
• Partner with engineering leadership to scope roles, define hiring criteria, and build sourcing strategies.
• Proactively source and engage passive candidates in aerospace, defense, robotics, and advanced motion/controls.
• Manage candidate experience end-to-end: screening, interview coordination, feedback, offers, closing.
• Build and refine hiring processes, interview scorecards, and structured loops to support growth.
• Track pipeline health, time-to-fill, and funnel metrics; flag risks and bottlenecks.
