Job summary

AssemblyAI builds the foundational speech models behind the Voice AI products our customers build. The company seeks a Senior Technical Recruiter to own hiring for our Research team and a portfolio of senior Engineering roles: Researchers, Research Engineers, and ML Engineers.

You will partner with research and engineering leaders, design profiles and interview loops, run rigorous screens, and manage complex closes. This is a high-impact, meritocratic role at a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical recruiting for ML researchers or engineers
• Strong outbound sourcing practice and ML/AI network
• Able to discuss model training, evaluation, and inference with researchers
• Experience closing senior candidates with equity packages
• Comfort with Greenhouse and modern AI sourcing tools

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for Research and senior Engineering roles
• Build outbound-first pipelines mapping talent in ML labs and academic groups
• Partner with leaders to define profiles and design interview loops
• Run thoughtful screens and provide evidence-based reads
• Lead complex closes with equity discussions and international candidates
• Build long-term relationships with candidates not ready to move
• Use data and AI tooling to accelerate sourcing and reporting
• Help scale the team with interviewer training and candidate experience improvements
