Job summary

AssemblyAI builds the foundational speech models behind the Voice AI products our customers build. The people who train those models and build the systems that serve them are some of the hardest people in tech to hire; and we need to hire a lot more of them in 2027.

We recruit ML researchers, research engineers, and ML/infrastructure engineers from AI labs and top tech firms, with a strong outbound network and a focus on high-impact hires, equity conversations, and scaling an efficient interview

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical recruiting with a track record of hiring ML researchers, research engineers, or ML/infrastructure engineers at AI labs, AI-native startups, or top tech companies.
• Strong outbound sourcing practice and a network in the ML/AI research community.
• Experience closing senior, sought-after candidates against competing offers, including equity-heavy packages.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for Research and senior Engineering roles, from intake through offer and close.
• Build outbound-first pipelines and map talent at frontier labs, speech and audio teams, and academic groups.
• Partner with research and engineering leaders to define profiles and design interview loops.
• Run screens with technical candidates and provide hiring managers with evidence-based reads.
• Lead complex closes with competing offers and equity conversations in partnership with People team.
• Scale the team with interviewer training and structured kits.
