GEICO is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a passion for working on complex Finance Technology programs across multiple departments and teams. You will be a key driver for teams of engineers, focusing on delivering enterprise-wide products. This Senior Technical Project Manager is a vital member of the Financial Technology team, collaborating organization-wide to plan, prioritize, and lead implementations within the Finance Technology domain. You will work with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of impactful projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in project management, with working knowledge of Workday Financials, and a background in Financial Services, Accounting, or Corporate Finance. Experience in Insurance Technology is a plus.
Position Responsibilities
- Partner with project sponsors, delivery teams, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, change control processes, and documentation.
- Work with senior leadership to address project dependencies, negotiate delivery milestones, and ensure timely project completion.
- Identify and escalate project risks, providing detailed and actionable solutions.
- Understand how requirements and design choices impact multiple systems.
- Report on project progress and key metrics, offering ideas for process and delivery improvements.
- Apply operational and LEAN principles to streamline organizational processes.
- Require prior experience in Financial Services, with a solid understanding of ERP applications.
- Coordinate activities across systems, departments, and teams.
- Leverage finance system knowledge to support current and future needs.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
- Utilize experience with ERPs like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Hyperion, or SAP.
- Use expertise in Finance, Accounting, and Management Reporting to develop solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, team members, and stakeholders to solve complex problems.
- Report on project and program statuses, and suggest improvements.
- Refine and improve existing processes without compromising delivery timelines.
- Share best practices and foster process improvements across teams.
- Perform cost analysis and forecasting to inform business planning.
- Facilitate agreement on technical solutions among teams, ensuring timely resolution of design issues.
- Conduct ad hoc research and analysis to meet requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong program and project management skills, with successful experience managing large-scale projects.
- Deep expertise in Finance domain to interpret requirements into system solutions.
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials.
- Understanding of accounting processes, management reporting, and cross-finance practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience or certification in LEAN principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work directly with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
- Experience with continuous delivery methodologies.
- Proficiency in quantitative problem-solving approaches.

Experience
- 12+ years managing large-scale Finance Technology programs.
- 10+ years in Product or Project Management.
- 8+ years working with ERP solutions like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Hyperion, or SAP.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- PMP or Scrum certification preferred.
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
