Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end cross-functional programs across IT. You will lead planning, execution, governance, and benefits realization with executive sponsors, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and risk management.

You will partner with diverse teams, manage external providers, and coach stakeholders across senior leadership and technical groups to drive transformation and continuous improvement of PMO processes.

Qualifications

Eight years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional experience as a Project Manager/Program Manager in an IT organization.
Strong technical background to credibly evaluate risks and issues for technical teams.
Experience managing Enterprise Applications projects/programs.
Experience managing external implementation providers.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills with excellent presentation and communication abilities.
Solid track record of stakeholder management and communicating with senior leadership and technical teams.

Responsibilities

Leading program definition, planning, scope, and execution of assigned programs, managing health status and mitigating risks.
Defining integrated program plans with detailed work breakdown structures and deliverables for success.
Identifying dependencies between programs and sizing/leading transformation opportunities.
Driving stakeholder alignment and reporting program status to executive sponsors and governance forums.
Working independently in ambiguous circumstances to create clear paths forward for teams.
Adopting best-practice guidelines to improve PMO processes.
