Job summary

Baseten is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (TPM) to own and orchestrate high-visibility programs for our largest customers. You will liaise with customers and internal teams to keep complex initiatives on track, drive multi-team collaboration, and shape the platform with direct leadership exposure.

This role requires technical depth in ML infra, Kubernetes, and distributed systems, plus exceptional communication and ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a TPM (or engineer turned TPM) on infrastructure, cloud or customer-facing technical programs.
• Technical depth: ML Infra systems, Kubernetes, GPUs and distributed systems; experience with LLM inference is a strong plus.
• Experience running programs across many teams without formal authority.
• Calm under escalation; brings structure and closes the loop.
• Strong writing for engineers and execs; high ownership; fixes over workarounds.

Responsibilities

• Run the priority account cadence for top accounts and establish operating rhythms.
• Coordinate cross-team programs across multiple groups (SA, Sales, Product, engineering) with clear owners and SLAs.
• Reduce toil and protect platform time by removing obstacles and streamlining processes.
• Own metrics and reporting on account health, response times, toil, and team health.
• Scale the team through enablement and certification, and support hiring operations.
